AMERICAN FILMWERKZ ANNOUNCES THE OFFICIAL MOVIE SCREENING FOR THE FEATURE FILM “SWEET JUSTICE”



Arlington, TX -May 22, 2009 American Filmwerkz is announcing the official screening for the feature film “Sweet Justice”, Sunday June 14, 2009 at the new Studio Movie Grill located in the Arlington Highlands, 225 Merchants Row Arlington, Texas. This Red Carpet Event will begin at 6:30pm, Showtime is at 7:00pm, and shortly after the film there will be a one on one forum with the production team, cast and crew.

“Sweet Justice” is a unique film due to the content dealing with the Child Support System in Texas. The film was directed by Arthur Muhammad (Sweet Chariot Productions) and written and produced by Kelly Gray and Teiah Bennett (Mahogany Films). The local team was able to pull together a crew and cast for a 14 day shoot two weeks before Christmas 2008 and worked on a shoestring budget.

The film follows four women working as child support case workers by day and undercover collectors at night, tracking down deadbeat parents and making them pay up by any means necessary. “With a story like this we couldn’t slack on the cast we wanted to reach out to all ethnicities because child support is not just an urban or lower class issue”, comments Producer Kelly Gray. The cast includes Reagan Gomez-Preston from the WB Comedy the Parent Hood, Rap-A-Lot recording artist ZRO, Cheaters show host Joey Greco, The Rickey Smiley Morning show personality Headkrack and KRNB’s Ms. Tammy Thomas.

“Sweet Justice” is already creating a buzz and sparking a movement. The Houston based Black Broadcasting Network has approached American Filmwerkz about a weekly episode for their network launch this summer. “There are so many stories we wanted to tell and the series will allow us to do that. As a filmmaker “Sweet Justice” was not only a great story concept but a tool to display the quality filmmaking and production talent we have here in Texas”, commented Director Arthur Muhammad. American Filmwerkz is inviting the press, all local media and the public out to the screening.
