KwanzaaFest has grown exponentially in size and vision and continues to offer programming of cultural, educational and social significance. The celebration (which is free to the general public) attracts thousands of local, regional and national participants, vendors and sponsors. Each year, event organizers, who volunteer their time, earmark thousands of dollars and rely on corporate entities to help underwrite the cost.
KwanzaaFest event held at Fair Park each December. KwanzaaFest is an annual festival that hosts more than 50,000 people during the two-day event. Contributing to the overwhelming success of KwanzaaFest is the variety of free family friendly activities that include mini-concerts performed by national recording artists, market vendors providing timely access to gifts and products for the holiday season, dedicated children's activities, a 5K Walk/Run, the Great Debate fostering the best of the best high school debate teams through scholarships for the winning team, and a charitable health outreach component that produced more than 27,800 screenings valued at over $491,000 during the 2008 event.
KwanzaaFest, Inc., a 501(c)3 organization, coordinates the planning and implementation of this event through volunteer staff. This event is truly an effort by the community for the community. Sponsorship of this year's event garners corporations the opportunity to partner with the 19th annual KwanzaaFest celebration through support of substantive services needed by the community. Many benefits highlight sponsors of KwanzaaFest in detail, along with a more in-depth profile of festival offerings. Sponsors would have access to tens of thousands of community members who patronize this free two-day community festival.
