She serves as the center's director and trains aspiring trichologists from all over the world. A sought after lecturer, Dr. Amerson travels throughout the United States, St. Thomas, Jamaica, Trinidad and Barbados speaking at national and international hair conventions and seminars.
Dr. Amerson's awards and honors include Industry Educator Award, Trichologist of the Year, the Madame C. J. Walker Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Leadership Gold Cup Award, Cosmetologist of the Year Award and the 2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century., just to name a few. Additionally. she has served as the Assistant Dean of Education for the Texas State Institute and a member of the Board of Directors of the International Institute of Trichology.
Active in the community, Dr. Amerson donates to local Night Sheltars, has been a volunteer in the Big Brothers and Big Sisters program for over 6 years, previously coordinated annual back-to-school beauty make-overs for underprivileged children, assists with local Women's Sheltars, works with the Shriners Burn Hospital in Galveston, TX, and volunters with the Wigs for Kids program. In her ongoing effort to give back, during the Hurricane Katrina tragedy, she offered complimentary microscopic hair and scalp analysis to Katrina evacuees in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
